What is the thing that's been most surprising about being a mom?
The most surprising thing about being a mom is the overwhelming amount of love you instantly feel. The connection a mom has with their child is such a indescribable feeling. I would do anything for her.
What child gear could you not live without?
My favorite item that is used almost everyday is my City Mini Stroller. It is light and easy to fold up and down. It folds up flat so when put in the trunk its easy to put stuff on top of it. Della thinks its comfy too! The canopy has two see-through "skylights" you can cover or open up. It is nice protection if it is cold and you want the canopy closed but they can still see out. Also, I LOVE my Medela pump. I breast fed for 13 months and pumping is a MUST if you want a life outside of baby. The Medela single is what I have and it was easy to use, as comfortable as it gets, and easy to clean.
What activities did you take for granted before having a child, that now feels rare and special?
I love taking day trips if that means to the city or hiking. Just picking up and going with my husband was so careless and easy. Now it is more of a challenge with naps and a schedule.
How has being a mom changed your personal style?
Well my style is more simple, basic, and comfy. Della loves to play with my jewelry and I don't want her to break it so a more simple dainty necklace is what I wear now. Something I don't mind now though is getting dirty at the park or splattered with paint when painting on the porch.
When was the last time your child made you tear up with joy?
Yesterday Della and I were walking out of a store and I asked Della to give me a kiss. She looked at me closes her eyes and puckers up. I said, "aww thanks, Della" and she replies, "thanks mommy". She is so polite and sweet. I hope she always thanks me for my kisses!!!
