When I dreamed of what my life would look like someday, being married, having babies… To be honest I have to tell you, I put characteristics on those little tiny babies in my dreams.
I envisioned my oldest being like me... the one I can count on, right? The one that will pick up my slack and play nicely with siblings. He will love to learn and will set the pace for our family…
I definitely wasn't ready for what would happen next.
My oldest child came out of the womb in two pushes. (That should've been my first sign, ha!) He pretty much shouted, "here I am!" when he made his debut.
Six years later, things haven't changed much on his end... He's constantly one step ahead of me.
In our house when unkind words are used we wash that little mouth out with soap. The first time this happen to Cohen, I found the soap dispensers emptied out and replaced with water, just in case I tried to use that punishment again.
This happened again last week. Cohen came to me on his own and announced he's, "already taken care of it" (before I had the chance to) "Mom, you don't need to worry about it. Believe me, it tasted terrible!"... Nice try buddy.
Yes, ALWAYS one step ahead ...
